Monday's Jr. High boys' basketball game with Our Redeemer Lutheran has been canceled.

Coding class presented App ideas they developed as part of their class. Both gentlemen explained how the app works, the cost, how it can help people, and what inspired them to develop their App.

Due to SVM boys basketball team playing at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30th, for MNAC, McPherson County Schools will have a 1:00 p.m. dismissal. With that, we will move our Oral Spelling Bee to Tuesday, February 3 at 1:00 p.m. We will post the advancement of spellers tomorrow. We want everyone to be able to go support our basketball team and our Spellers. Good luck!

We are 100+ Days Smarter! Our one hundredth day of school was last Wednesday. Since it was a Winter testing date, they got to show off just how much they have learned and grown this school year. We are so proud of the progress they have made so far. Special thank you to Mrs. Florea for the wonderful treats to help us celebrate.

Monday, February 2, 2026 we do not have school due to Parent-Teacher conferences starting at 1:00 p.m. Elementary students are bringing home schedules today. Junior High and High School, please feel free to come between the hours of 1:00-6:00 p.m. We can't wait to see you!

Due to temperatures being below 0, McPherson County schools will have a 10:00 a.m. start on Monday, January 26, 2026.

Good luck to our students as they compete at conference basketball and district FFA. It is still going to be cold earlier this week, please dress accordingly and students that drive, have a winter safety pack in your car.

Due to frigid temperatures and high probability of snow beginning tonight and tomorrow, McPherson County schools will not have school on Friday, January 23, 2026. Please stay safe!

On Tuesday, the McPherson County yearbook class conducted yearbook ad sales in North Platte. Appreciation is expressed to the businesses that listened to their pitches and backed their efforts.

On January 12th, McPherson County High School partnered with McPherson County, Logan County and Custer County Sheriff's Departments and worked on Standard Response Protocol (SRP) as these departments used working K-9s through our school. This also helped these departments to become familiar with our school layout in case of an emergency. The Junior high and High school students had a brief discussion with the handlers and witnessed a dog working. Thank you Sheriff Stump for arranging this opportunity.

Brody had the privilege Sunday of presenting his Patriot Pen essay at the District 4 American Legion meeting in Wauneta. He ended up placing 2nd in the District contest and was awarded $75. He was very nervous about reading his essay in front of a bunch of strangers but he powered through and did a great job. Public speaking is definitely out of his comfort zone. We were told that Brody is the first participant from the Stapleton American Legion post to place at the district level. We are so proud of him!

Another full week for our students. Remember to eat healthy and get plenty of rest.

It is that time of year to be thinking of the future Longhorn and Maverick! Kindergarten Discovery Day will be February 25th. If you know any eligible kiddos in your area, please share this information with their families. We would love to have them come for the day.

The junior class completed their novel unit on The Hobbit by creating movie posters and presenting key themes to the class. They are now working on their Of Mice and Men unit.
