The annual Stapleton Stampede was a huge success! Dozens of participants showed up early with the rising sun to compete in the kids mile and the 5K. Looking forward to continuing the tradition next year! Thanks to the SVM XC team and coaches/parents for putting on a great event! Also a big thank you to NE State Troopers from North Platte for stopping by to help with traffic control/safety. Pictures courtesy of Jenni Joedeman

Final week for all morning weights, open gyms, camps and general summer activities. Coaches will be sending out schedules for conditioning week. (HS only)
There will be NO evening weights this week - only morning sessions.
As a reminder Volleyball, Cross Country, and Boys Basketball will all have activities/fundraisers that will take place during the Logan County fair weekend this upcoming week.
All physicals and mandatory paperwork should be turned into each school's office as soon as possible.
Due to expected high temperatures next week, we will start our FB camp at 7:30 and go until 9:30 pm. Mon-Wed.
There will be transportation from Tryon and we hope that those of you from NP will car pool.
You will need your helmets & shoulder pads. If you did not turn in your jersey from camp, bring those as well.
It is extremely important that ALL players attend these three days as we gear up for the season!
Also, all athletes need to have a current physical and NSAA consent form turned in prior to August 5.
We are excited for the season, Go Mavs!!!!
JH Volleyball Open Gym tonight had 11 Lady Mavericks working on passing and serving skills. Thank you to the players and parents for your willingness to show up. The future is bright!

Team camps are supposed to be about team building, bonding, and adventure. Our Lady Mavericks Volleyball team certainly rose to that challenge this week in Ogallala. From hitchhiking rodents, to malfunctioning shower handles - snacks galore, sofas, movies - to marketing the latest the greatest in agricultural motorized equipment - taking time to chat up local law enforcement and all the "pets" a puppy could ask for! Not to mention surviving in a gym disguised as a sauna... The wins and losses in competition will soon be forgotten, but the memories made and stories shared will live on forever... Thank you ladies and coaches for your dedication to improving and your willingness to represent all of the Maverick Community! Keep up the great work!

Stapleton Public Schools will be discontinuing the after-practice activity van for the 2024-2025 school year. We will not be providing a van to drive students to North Platte at 6pm as has been done in prior years. This does not apply to after-school transportation at the conclusion of the academic day. This decision was made based on a variety of factors - Mainly the lack of available drivers, the amount of after school activities both home and away and the inconsistent use of the program throughout the entire school year last year. We wanted to let families know about this decision as quickly as possible so they can make arrangements prior to the beginning of the school year on August 14, 2024. Any questions or comments can be directed to Mr. Johnson at the school. Thank you.
Here is an opportunity to order so SVM gear to get ready for the upcoming school year. A few items are non sports specific, if that is what you desire. All football players have an assigned number so if you want to order for your player and do not know their number, please contact Coach Connell and I can give you that information. The store will close in about a week, so that we can actually get the gear before the first game.
