NAAG week 11
McPherson County FFA will have a pumpkin πŸŽƒ πŸŽƒπŸŽƒπŸŽƒcarving (maybe pie baking) event on Thursday, October 28 @ 6pm (which is after one-act practice). Pumpkins will be provided! Supper is TBD. Students and staff will have an opportunity to judge the pumpkins on Friday! The winner(s) will receive a prize! πŸŽƒ

Monday, our data collection team and administration had some follow up training on a new data collection system, eduCLIMBER. This program will be a great asset to our district and help our teachers and administration with future decisions on best practices.

Until we meet again Mrs. Apperson. Friday, November 15th was Mrs. Apperson's last day at McPherson County School. She has a wonderful job opportunity to work at MPCC in Broken Bow and do some side work with her husband at the radio station. We wish you the best of luck Shelly!

McPherson County FFA students attended the Nebraska State Range Judging Competition held in Valentine on September 29, 2021. Students had to identify range plants, complete the range plant pedigree, evaluate ecological sites, assess a ranch map and written quiz. The ranch map is used to provide information to contestants for their assessment in selectin reasonable methods for improving the value, use, and productivity of rangeland for specific objectives. Nebraska State Range Judging Results Senior Division Kinnley Powers: 120th Junior Division Individual (out of 142 participants): Klaire Ward: 41st Isaac Goosey: 53rd Saije Phelps: 61st Kaden Blake: 85th Junior Team Placed 13th out of 23 teams.

FFA members had the opportunity to learn about livestock evaluation at Valentine as well as giving reasons. The livestock judging clinic was a great way for students to start learning to analyze differences between animals!
