
Good morning! We want parents to know we are monitoring the weather pattern that is coming in today. With the high winds and the possibility of snow, we want to keep our students and staff safe. The grades 3-6 and 7-12 choirs got everyone in the Christmas spirit by performing a selection of Christmas carols at the program on Monday.

Joy Crow's K-2 class prepared a play for the Christmas Concert on Monday.

5th/6th graders are writing a 13-15 sentence scientific argument answering the unit question about traits. They used the spider simulator to gather evidence. I am so proud of their perseverance while learning about genes, proteins, traits and so much more!!




Pie earners in their ALEKS math program this month are Devanee, Brayden, Leyton, Isaac, and Rachael! Eat up, kids!




English students enjoyed spending time with a unique visitor last week.





Happy Tuesday! On 12-8-21 our 7-12 staff and students will be attending an assembly in Mullen with KSB presenting about digital citizenship. It starts at 2:00 ct. Students should be back to Tryon around 3:45 pm and the North Platte bus will run accordingly.

Another busy week in McPherson County


"Just look a little closer…"
The Juniors utilize microscopes in Advanced Biology to take an in-depth look at plant and animal cells.




"Bringing the Cell to Life"
The Sophomores had fun with yarn in their biology class with Mrs. Hermoso. They used various colors of yarn and paper to make two-dimensional models of a cell during each of the four stages of Mitosis.





Freshman FFA members received their FFA jackets through the Nebraska FFA Foundation “Blue Jackets. Bright Futures.” program. The purpose of this program is to provide members with the opportunity to earn a new FFA jacket. Students have to fill out an application and have an advisor statement. Supporters from all over the state and country provide monetary donations to the Nebraska FFA Foundation specific to the program. Thank you to there support! Students also learned and practice how to tie a tie.





Animal science class conducted an experiment to determine the risk levels related to spreading pathogens in three farm scenarios. Students learned producers implement biosecurity practices to reduce the spread of pathogens on farms.





If you are coming to District Play Production in North Platte, please arrive a little early and have your driver’s license to get in. Thank you. Good luck today kiddos, performance time is 2:30 pm.


One-Act Updates:
*The one-act team will compete at districts tomorrow at North Platte High School at 2:30 p.m.
*Please bring a sack lunch or money for concessions.
*We will leave the school at 9:30 a.m.
*We will be watching all the plays of the other schools and staying for the award ceremony.

Kearney One-Act Conference Results:
We should all be super proud of our McPherson County One-Act Team! These kids had numerous obstacles to overcome, and they never gave up once. We came home with three acting awards this time. We would have liked more, but we'll make up for it at districts next week.
