Sorry for the late message, but Junior High basketball games scheduled tomorrow in Tryon have been postponed. We will send out more information later.
I hope everyone is starting to feel better! We were supposed to do Winter testing at the elementary, but with most students sick last week, we moved it to next week. This week we will work on catching up JH/HS students that missed last week. 100 Day is Thursday!
Please take all clothes, coats, hats, gloves, etc. home to wash. Hopefully that will help slow down this sickness.
Due to the number of illnesses at the elementary this week, we will delay elementary MAP/NSCAS testing until the week of January 27th.
If your student is sick today and has an activity tomorrow, they will not be allowed to attend the activity due to time they will be leaving. Refer to the activities handbook page 1. B
McPherson County families:
Due to staff shortages and illness, school will dismiss Friday, January 17 at 12:00 p.m. There will be no lunchtime provided for the Jh/HS. The bus will run accordingly.
The junior class prom meeting scheduled for tonight has been canceled due to illness.
Valentine's Day is just a month away! We will be doing Candy Grams again this year. If you would like to send something sweet to your student, a friend, or a staff member please fill out this form before February 5th! Proceeds will be going towards the Teacher's Scholarship Fund for seniors. Make all checks payable to McPherson County Schools.
It looks like the ugly flu and cold season is coming out in full force. Remember to cover your cough or sneeze, wash your hands thoroughly, and get plenty of rest.
We are in full swing academically and athletically. Your support of our student athletes is much appreciated. Junior High and High school kiddos, eat well and get plenty of rest for your tests this week.

The McPherson County Speech Team is diligently preparing for the competition season. Our first speech meet will be on February 8th at the Maxwell Wildcat Invite, hosted at Maxwell High School. Round one begins at 8:00 a.m.

Jackson made metal art during welding for a gift.
Natural resource students learned that erosion influences land use, and may cause environmental changes in ecosystems. They designed and conducted an experiment to determine the effects of slope and vegetation on erosion.
McPherson County FFA Chapter held their monthly meeting!
Don't forget to sign up for 4-H Maker Day by January 10th. See flyer for more details. This starts immediately after school is let out at 1:00 at the Fair building on January 22. This is not a school event, so we will not provide transportation afterwards.
