The miles are adding up, and race days are getting closer!
There’s something special about watching our cross country team put in the work. The long runs, tough workouts, and tons of laughs.
We’re especially grateful for the people who have continued to support these athletes.
Here’s to the miles, the memories, and all the hard work ahead. We are proud of our runners!

Our first cross country meet is Thursday, August 27, 2026, at The Oregon Trail Golf Course in Sutherland, with races beginning at 9:30 AM.

Here is an opportunity to get some Maverick gear if you would like. There is options that are football specific as well as Maverick gear in general. This store will close in one week to hopefully get the gear here by mid season.

Concussion baseline testing will be on August 3rd in Stapleton at the school at 8:30 a.m. Please attend if you are planning on playing any sports or participate in any activities including, play production, speech, or music. This is for all students in grades 6-12 at McPherson County and Stapleton. You will need a phone and download the SWAY medical app.

Interested in getting a head start on the cross country season? Join us for optional cross country conditioning sessions this Tuesday through Thursday at 8:00 a.m. We will meet in front of Stapleton Public Schools. All athletes in grades 6–12 are welcome to attend!

FB schedule for the next two weeks. July 27-30 6:30-7:30 in Stapleton, Max Outs and Flys x2 Aug 3 & 4 Practice at Stapleton 6:30-8:30, baseline testing to follow on Monday. August 5-7 Practice in Stapleton, 4:00-6:00 PM

Baseline testing will be done on August 3rd at 8:30 am in Stapleton. Please bring your phone and have the SWAY Medical App downloaded. This will be for all students 6-12th grade. You will also need to do this even if you only plan to be involved in One-Acts, Speech or Music.

Physicals for 6-12 graders need to be turned into the office before the season begins and the NSAA form for High Schoolers.

A great camp close to home!

Sandhills Valley Mavericks had a good day on the course. Everyone improved their scores, we had three in the top ten, and they are MNAC third place team. Brayden McNutt placed 10th, Tucker Myers placed 5th, and Kempten Florea placed 3rd. Congratulations!

Please join us on Thursday, April 30th to celebrate our student athletes as the SVM sports banquet in Tryon. We ask Freshmen and Sophomores to bring appetizers or finger foods, and Juniors and Seniors to bring a dessert. We will start refreshments at 6:50 p.m. and the banquet at 7:00 p.m.

SVM golfers had a good day at the South Loup golf invite. The day was nice and scores improved! Kempten Florea ended the day in 5th with an 89. Way to go Mavs!

Good morning all,

As we prepare for the wrestling championships, there are a couple of items that need to be updated.

ROAD CLOSURES -

CHI was informed of additional road closures due to construction and have an updated map (attached).

CHAMPIONSHIP TICKETS

There are still tickets available for all sessions (boys and girls). Please tell your parents and fans that they can avoid all fees and purchase a ticket at the box office the day of the event. Any ticket advertised online for a face value of more than $10 is a third-party vendor that has purchased a ticket and is reselling it.

Boy’s sessions 5 & 6 tickets will only be available at the box office the day of the session.

We have always been able to get everyone in the venue for every session they wish to attend.

Districts didn't end how we wanted, but so incredibly proud of this group of young men. No one made it past the heartbreak round. Hold your heads high and work hard for next season. Kempten thank you for the last four years.
