new superintendent

Please give a big MCS welcome to Mr. Tim Vanderheiden. He will be the new superintendent starting July 1st. We are happy to have you here!

Tim Vanderheiden is going into his 35th year in public education. During his career Mr. Vanderheiden (Mr. V) has taught classes Kindergarten through 12th Grade, as well as at the post-secondary level. He has served as a building administrator at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels during his 17 years as an administrator. Mr. V comes to McPherson County Schools from the Nebraska

Department of Education, where he was a Federal Programs Specialist, State Non-Public Ombudsman, and School Improvement Consultant.

Mr. Vanderheiden readily admits his better half is his wife Shannon, who also serves the public as the Executive Director of the West Central District Health Department. Tim and Shannon are empty nesters, but still proud parents to Sydney, Tyler, and William Cole. Besides being proud parents, they hold the title of Papa and Gammie to their Granddaughter, Embrey. When not working, Mr. V loves to spend time with his family, hunt, fish, and mess with music.
